Mini SUV but Can Off-road
This ultra-compact SUV was designed by several design studios located in India, UK and Italy. At 3.83 meters long, the 2021 Tata Punch is smaller than the Citroen C3 but promises interesting off-road capabilities.
Obviously not a true off-roader like the Land Rover Defender or Jeep Wrangler but Tata claims, the Tata Punch is designed to be able to play on off-road terrain, maybe for a light one.
The Tata Punch has a ground clearance of 19 centimeters, an angle of attack of 20.3 degrees and a flight angle of 37.6 degrees or the same as the Jeep Wrangler. In addition, Tata explained that the Tata Punch can also cross puddles to a depth of 37 centimeters.
A Complete Set
In the interior, the Tata Punch can accommodate five people and has a trunk of 366 liters. It's slightly larger in volume than the Suzuki Ignis.
The Tata Punch is available in three different variants, with varying prices. The most complete variant includes LED optical instruments and automatic climate control.
There's also cruise control, a reverse camera, and a seven-inch digital instrument cluster. Harman infotainment system with 7-inch screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
There is only one type of engine available, namely, the naturally aspirated 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine.
It produces 86 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque paired to a five-speed manual or automatic gearbox. According to Tata, the 2021 Punch received a five-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test.
However, the standard differs from the more stringent Euro NCAP, especially since the last protocol update.
It is for one of these reasons that the 2021 Tata Punch will not be sold in Europe. The reason is, bringing it to Europe could make the renewal costs explode. That way, you can eliminate one advantage of this car, namely the very cheap price.
