This year 2021 has indeed been the most exciting year for Yamaha, they have successfully won world titles in a number of racing events, one of which is World Superbike (WSBK) with its flagship rider, Toprak Ratzgatlioglu from the Pata Yamaha with Brixx WorldSBK team.
Celebrating this achievement, Yamaha Europe also released 21 limited edition Yamaha R1 units. Of course this motorbike is a replica of the rider numbered 54 and only 21 units were made. It is certain, this motorbike will be hunted by collectors and fans.
This is a natural thing, because this achievement is a long wait for Yamaha, after the last time being the WSBK world champion in 2009 ago. And what's the motor like?
As a racing replica, of course this motorbike has higher specifications than the regular version. For example, the power that can be produced is up to 207.8 PS, which means 20.2 PS bigger than the version that is sold freely.
Not only stronger, but also has a lighter weight of up to 26 kg. Yes, the total weight of this Toprak replication motor is only 175 kg, including liquid. Compare with the regular version which can penetrate 200 kg!
A number of components by GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) were also embedded. Starting from important components, namely the latest generation ECU with a choice of superbike mapping, traction control settings, to engine brake and wheelie control settings.
The cables also use GYTR to reduce weight as well as a set of lightweight lithium batteries. Because for racing, the AIS (Air Induction System) device is removed and GYTR components are plugged in. Of course the fairing kit aka the lightweight Kevlar body is installed.
The performance improvement was also assisted by the use of the Akrapovic exhaust, the legendary suspension from Ohlins, the racing specification handlebar triangle and forged rims from Marchesini. Of course a set of brakes from Brembo has become standard.
The work was carried out by Crescent Racing Pro Shop, who has six years of experience working on Yamaha WSBK motorcycles. They are believed to make replica motorbikes that are track ready, aka ready to be used for racing with a number of exotic and special devices.
