Ford Motor Company has set another world record for their flagship electric car, the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The electric car with the Blue Oval logo managed to set three world records at once.
First, the Ford Mustang Mach-E became the world's first electric car with the best level of electrical efficiency in the world. It was obtained after the Ford Mustang Mach-E traveled from Jon O'Groats, in England to Land's End at the southern tip of England. The total distance covered is 1,407 kilometers.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E successfully covered thousands of distances without difficulty. With this achievement, the Ford Mustang Mach-E achieves an electricity consumption of 10.4 kilometers per kWh. This record managed to beat the record set by Tesla on the same route with electricity consumption of 2.8 kilometers per kWh.
After successfully setting the record. The Ford Mustang Mach-E is back on the same journey. This time the target record is the ability to recharge the battery.
For a distance of 1,407 kilometers, the Ford Mustang Mach-E only needs one battery charge, namely in Wigan, England. This makes the Ford Mustang Mach-E an electric car with a record for one battery charge in a few thousand kilometers.
What's more interesting, the ability to recharge the battery managed to record the shortest record. It only took 43 minutes, 13 seconds for the Ford Mustang Mach-E battery to be fully charged again.
"This achievement can convince consumers that our electric cars can be used for daily activities. This is shown by the record we have achieved," said Tim Nicklin, Ford's electrification manager.
He continued that currently Ford has data that says there are still many people who are pessimistic about the ability of electric cars. The mileage of electric cars is believed to be just under 241 kilometers.
"Ford Mustang Mach-E can overcome this challenge with three records achieved. This proves that our car can meet what society needs for electric cars," he concluded.
