2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is priced from IDR 1 billion

Ford just unveiled the 2022 Bronco Raptor, adding a slick halo variant to the top of their new off-roader lineup.

The US company has branded it a 2022 model, which means we may see the SUV on the showroom floor by the end of the year.

And, when that happens, the Bronco Raptor will start at $69,995 - including a destination fee of $1,495.

They didn't give any details about the options or packages. However, we believe there are plenty of aftermarket parts and accessories from Ford that will push that price up.

The initial MSRP (retail price) of the Bronco Raptor is indeed cheaper than its rival, the fat V8 off-roader from the Jeep - the Wrangler Rubicon 392.

The SUV is priced starting at 76,000 US dollars (Rp 1.09 billion) plus destination fees. However, we should also consider some of the differences, like what's under the hood. The Bronco Raptor is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine.

Ford hasn't provided detailed specs yet, but we do know the engine makes 400 horsepower (298 kilowatts) and 415 pound-feet (563 Newton-meters) of torque on the Explorer ST.

The engine in the Bronco will get special tuning and an improved induction system, making those numbers soar.

However, the taste has not surpassed the Wrangler. The Jeep has a naturally aspirated 6.4-liter V8 engine that produces 475 hp (354 kW) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque. The Bronco Raptor has several significant improvements over the standard model.

This version has a much improved suspension that increases travel by 60 and 40 percent - front and rear - over the entry-level model.

Its ground clearance also grows to 13.1 inches. The Bronco also gets wider tracks – 8.6 inches wider to be exact, wider fenders, and a number of visual improvements that set it apart from the standard Bronco.

So, no one will be confused to distinguish between the two. The Ford Bronco Raptor is believed to go on sale later this year, with Ford lined up as a 2022 model.

However, launching a new vehicle will not be easy for Ford, as most automakers are still experiencing supply chain shortages.

We'll get to know the specifications of the Bronco Raptor's engine in the coming months, when there may be an idea of the package and accessories Ford will offer.
