Yaris Cross GR Sport Presents Solid Motorsport Style and Spirit

Toyota is expanding its Yaris Cross compact SUV lineup with the introduction of the GR Sport model inspired by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) achievements in the racing world.

With exclusive exterior and interior features and a rearranged suspension for a sharper and more satisfying handling, the Yaris Cross GR Sport extends the appeal of this model to more customers.

The Yaris Cross GR Sport follows the success of the well-established Corolla, Toyota C-HR and Yaris GR Sport.

Aggressive and Modern Exterior

The Yaris Cross GR Sport is distinguished by its 18-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels with a bright finish.

Sporty touches also include a new rear diffuser and a front grille with an exclusive “hot stamp” piano black mesh pattern and a hidden GR badge.

The new Dynamic Gray is the signature color of the GR Sport which is also available as a bi-tone option with a contrasting black roof and pillars.

Sporty and Premium Interior

In the cabin, the front sports seats have new gray upholstery with red stitching. Similar bright stitching is featured on the steering wheel and gear lever.

The premium looking GR Sport black perforated Ultrasuede™ seat in synthetic leather and red stitching is available as an option.

The GR logo is prominently displayed on the front headrests, starter button, instrument meter and steering wheel, and there are GR Sport custom silver gunmetal trim inserts on the doors and instrument panel.

Dynamic Driving Performance

The Yaris Cross has a proven basis for satisfactory handling thanks to the GA-B platform – the same as that used by the 2021 European Car of the Year-winning Yaris hatchback.

This platform gives it a low center of gravity, very rigid body and balanced chassis. Especially for the GR Sport, performance has been sharpened by re-tuning the suspension, steering, and body roll and better grip.

In other respects, the GR Sport retains all the qualities that helped the Yaris Cross win the 2022 World Urban Car of the Year title.

Bringing together Toyota's mastery of small car and SUV design techniques, it emphasizes high quality and practicality.

Customers appreciate the SUV's elevated but dynamic driving position, an advantage that points to the Toyota RAV4 as the world's first SUV.

High Cabin Practicality

Comfort is designed with 40:20:40 folding rear seats and a separate folding luggage deck that allows the load space to be extended from 397 liters (with all seats installed) to a maximum of 1,097 liters.

The fit design maximizes the interior despite the compact exterior dimensions that are ideal for agile urban maneuvering.

As an upscale model, positioned alongside the Yaris Cross Elegant and Adventure, the Yaris Cross GR Sport features a rich standard of features, including dual zone climate control, heated front seats and rear privacy glass.

The GR Sport is also equipped with the Toyota T-Mate package with active safety features and advanced driver assistance.

Hybrid Powertrain

The Yaris Cross GR Sport is powered by a highly efficient 1,500 cc 3-cylinder Hybrid Dynamic Force engine.

Long stroke pistons, high-speed combustion, 14:1 compression ratio, and control of engine temperature and pressure, help the unit achieve a high 40% thermal efficiency.

The low-emissions and fuel-efficient performance of the Yaris Cross GR Sport is targeted to be on par with the Yaris Cross Elegant and Adventure models.

Pre-sales of the Yaris Cross GR Sport in Europe will begin in the third quarter of 2022.
