Activision and Tencent released the first limited-time mode in Call of Duty Mobile, allowing players to play the classic Free for All.
So far, Call of Duty Mobile has proven to be a huge hit for Activision. The game has broken first week records for a mobile game, and has even received strong reviews from the community and critics alike.
To keep fans engaged with the game, the developers have released its first limited-time mode, which is the classic Free-for-All Call of Duty game mode.
While some might argue that Call of Duty Mobile should have Free-for-All permanently, they can at least give it a try over the coming week.
Call of Duty Mobile's Free-for-All mode is active in the game now and will be available until next Friday, giving players the opportunity to test their skills without any help from teammates.
To play Call of Duty Mobile Free-for-All, players must select the standard multiplayer mode. However, if they click on Game Mode, they may notice that Free-for-All is not one of the options.
All they need to do next is click the Featured tab above the standard multiplayer game mode, and that's where they'll find Free-for-All. Free-for-All doesn't allow players to choose the specific map they want to play on, so Call of Duty Mobile only needs to initiate matchmaking to enter the game.
Since Call of Duty Mobile is a live service style game, we know that it will be updated frequently in the future which will add more to the experience. Some of these updates will actually be permanent additions to Call of Duty Mobile, and not just limited-time modes like Free-for-All.
For example, the home screen in Call of Duty Mobile teased the Zombies mode, although further details on what will happen are not available at the time of this writing.
It's also possible that a future update will add more maps for Call of Duty Mobile's battle royale mode. The fact that the maps in Call of Duty Mobile's battle royale mode are named and in a box similar to standard multiplayer maps seems to indicate that more could be worked on.
Of course, it'll probably be a while before Call of Duty Mobile adds a new battle royale map, if ever, so fans shouldn't hold their breath.
Meanwhile, Call of Duty Mobile fans can play Free-for-All from now until sometime next week. As we noted, in our Call of Duty Mobile review, the game is quite fun, so those interested may want to check it out while Free-for-All is still alive.
