One consumer of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car told of a battery problem that suddenly dropped. At that time, Ashram Shahrivar, who was the owner of the electric car, had problems with his car not running because the battery had dropped from 80% to 0%. The car also can't be charged.
Now, the problem with Ashram's Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car has been fixed. He said the entire battery pack of his car was replaced by Hyundai.
Then why does Ashram's Ioniq 5 battery drop?
"The problem was that yesterday there was a faulty battery cell in the battery, the voltage was different. So there was one of the battery blocks where there was a problem," said Ashram.
He said that the Hyundai also did not know the reason why the battery cell was damaged. His Hyundai Ioniq 5 car was brought back to the Hyundai factory for a replacement battery pack.
"They immediately took the car to the factory yesterday, and immediately replaced all the batteries. So all the batteries were replaced," he said.
"In the meantime, they are still analyzing the battery that I used to take, and now I'm using the car again. It's back to normal," he said.
Beginning of Trouble
Ashram's electric car problems began to be felt since Sunday (2/10/2022). When he wanted to use the electric car, the Ashram said suddenly the car could not move.
"So on Thursday, I was from Jakarta. My car was used for commuting, it was Jakarta-Bandung. Then on Thursday I came, I was charged all night, Friday was full, I used it in the afternoon, it's still safe. I only use it in Bandung," open Ashram tells the chronology.
"Well, on Sunday I want to go. My driver had time to wash the car but wash it as usual, it doesn't matter. When I wash it, it's still on, take the car (to the garage), when I put it there, it's still 80% turned off. When I turn it on again it's zero. Because I only used it once, at least I used it for about 6 km on that Friday, so it's still 80%. That's why I saw why it was 0%. I can't go forward, I can't reverse the car," he continued. .
The ashram then tried to charge the electric car using the charger installed in his house. But nothing. At first he thought the charger installation at his house had a problem. But then he took the electric car to the PLN public electric vehicle charging station (SPKLU) by towing. It can't even be charged at the PLN SPKLU.
Finally, the Ashram took the car to a Hyundai dealer in Leuwipanjang, Bandung, on the same day. The dealer immediately investigated.
From the dealer, the Ashram car was then taken directly to the Hyundai factory for a replacement battery pack.
