GR Supra GT4 EVO Comes with Improved Engine Performance, Handling and Brakes

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) has launched the GR Supra GT4 racing car with improved braking, handling and engine performance for the 2023 season.

TGR has made extensive use of customer and driver feedback to improve its custom race car, which has won three regions, Japan, the United States and Europe, with more than 100 podium finishes.

Since its first full racing season in 2020, more than 50 GR Supra GT4s have participated in races around the world, where customers have won 11 national and international GT4 championships.

In August this year, the GR Supra GT4 celebrated its 50th in-class world championship victory.

But competition in the popular GT4 category is fierce and development of the GR Supra GT4 is continuing with an EVO update for the upcoming season, to ensure TGR customers can continue to achieve top results in the future.

At events around the world since the car's launch, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing engineers have provided on-track support to teams with customer drivers, providing valuable insights that are only possible through the pressures of competition on the racing circuit.

Feedback and user requests have flowed directly into the development of the GR Supra GT4 EVO, which follows TOYOTA's commitment to continuous improvement and building ever-better race cars for customers.

Responding to constructive customer feedback and team evaluation results, TGR development engineers focused their efforts on three main areas: brakes, handling and engine.

Thanks to an improved brake system design, new ABS settings, the latest KW suspension technology and upgraded anti-roll bar specifications, the GR Supra GT4 EVO provides better handling and higher cornering speeds.

Drivers can set faster lap times thanks to the increased power and optimal torque curve of the 3,000 cc 6-cylinder turbocharged engine, which benefits from a more effective cooling system.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing's close cooperation with GT4 teams and drivers, as well as their valuable direct feedback, helps set specific targets for performance improvement.

Therefore, the GR Supra GT4 EVO is easier to ride for ambitious amateur drivers while delivering the precise performance that professional racers demand.

The GR Supra GT4 EVO will make its competitive debut in January 2023 at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the first round of the 2022 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

Orders for the GR Supra GT4 EVO can be picked up starting October 28, 2022 and an upgrade kit will be available for existing GR Supra GT4 customers.
