Honda Prospect Motor Begins Mass Production of the Honda WR-V


Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) officially started the first mass production of the Honda WR-V at a ceremony held at the PT HPM factory in Karawang, West Java, December 1, 2022. The start of the first production of the Honda WR-V also marked the start of deliveries of Honda's newest model. this to authorized Honda dealers throughout Indonesia.

The first production ceremony for the Honda WR-V was attended by Kotaro Shimizu as President Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor, Benawati Abas as Senior Vice President of PT Honda Prospect Motor, Agus Budiman as Vice President of PT Honda Prospect Motor, Masakazu Hihara as Vice President of PT Honda Prospect Motor and the Board of Directors of PT Honda Prospect Motor.

In his remarks, Kotaro Shimizu, President Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor said, "We are proud that Indonesia is the first country in the world to launch and produce the Honda WR-V. With the start of production, we are ready to meet the demands of consumers who have been eagerly waiting for this model as soon as possible. We believe that Honda Indonesia's production facilities, which have high quality standards, will be able to meet the expectations of consumers in Indonesia and internationally in the future."

Since it was first launched on November 2, the Honda WR-V has been enthusiastically welcomed by consumers in Indonesia where the current order number has reached more than 1,500 units from all over Indonesia. The Honda WR-V is here to complement the Honda SUV line which has previously been successful with models such as the New Honda CR-V, All New Honda HR-V and All New Honda BR-V.

As part of the Honda SUV line, the Honda WR-V is also equipped with characters that are characteristic of other Honda SUVs such as high ground clearance, powerful engine performance, spacious cabin, and sophisticated technology. More than that, the Honda WR-V is designed with a sportier style and various advantages compared to other models in its class.

Prior to its launch, the Honda WR-V had gone through a series of research on consumers and underwent tests in various road conditions in Indonesia. With the start of this mass production, the Honda WR-V has increased the number of models produced at the PT HPM Factory in Indonesia, which also includes models such as the Honda Brio, All New Honda HR-V, All New Honda BR-V, Honda City Hatchback. RS, Honda CR-V and Honda Mobilio. The production of the Honda WR-V is carried out by applying high-quality production standards, as well as a variety of the latest technologies adopted from the production of previous superior models.

PT HPM's factory in Karawang sits on 51.52 hectares of land and has various production facilities with high quality standards. In addition to meeting demand in the Indonesian automotive market, several models and components produced at the PT HPM Factory have also been exported to various countries around the world. Since it was first exported in April 2019, PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has succeeded in exporting 22,680 Honda Brio units. Meanwhile, the All New Honda BR-V has produced 2,941 units since March 2022.
