VW has finally introduced its newest line up, the facelifted Volkswagen Polo GTI. As a hot hatch, the facelifted Polo GTI is expected to retail for £25,000 when it goes on sale in the UK later this year.
The facelifted Volkswagen Polo GTI comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged heart that can squeeze out power up to 204 Bhp and torque up to 320 Nm. This car is known to only come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission which can run 0-100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds. According to his information, the facelifted VW Polo GTI is claimed to be able to run up to 239 km/hour.
To get good performance, this car is equipped with a VW XDS electronic differential as standard to help provide a level of agility on the asphalt surface. The facelifted VW Polo GTI also uses torque vectoring. This torque vectoring is part of the differential gearbox which can be continuously adjusted by an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to distribute torque or torque to each driving wheel as needed.
The function of this differential gear is to allow the drive wheels to rotate at different speeds, especially when turning, where the turning radius of the inner wheel will be smaller than the turning radius of the outer wheel.
Compared to the standard Polo, VW has reduced the height of the facelifted Polo GTI by 15 mm which is claimed to improve cornering ability. Adaptive dampers will be available as an option and will be linked to different driving modes. The driving mode in question already includes Eco, Normal and Sport.
Using the MQB A0 platform and a stiffer anti-roll bar at the front for its suspension components, this hot hatch is now considered more stable when used in fast corners. With this platform, the weight of the facelifted Polo GTI is now lighter with figures reaching 1,286kg.
The appearance of the Volkswagen Polo GTI Facelift is now more modern
On the outside, the facelifted Volkswagen Polo GTI now has a red line under the honeycomb-shaped grille as its icon. The lighting system uses IQ.Light matrix LED headlights.
Looking at the side, the wheel circumference itself uses 17-inch alloy wheels which are also available with 18-inch alloy wheels as an option.
Regarding the infotainment system, this car features a 10.25-inch screen with special graphics for GTI which can be connected via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition there is also wireless charging.
Oh yes, the facelifted Volkswagen Polo GTI gets semi-autonomous adaptive cruise control safety features (which can be activated up to 209 km/h), lane assist, cross traffic alert, front assist with autonomous emergency braking and lots of other connectivity inside.
