Samsung will soon release the flagship Galaxy S23 series in February 2023. From the rumors that are circulating, the specifications and features of this cellphone bring an increase that is no joke.
The specifications are fairly expensive, using an exclusive version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Not to mention the latest AMOLED screen and up to 200MP camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra model.
HP component prices also tend to rise, following the global economic recession. However, Samsung seems reluctant to increase the price of its products.
Quoted from Gizchina, Wednesday (4/1/2023), Samsung plans to maintain the price of the Galaxy S23 so that it is still on par with its predecessor, the Galaxy S22. This needs to be done to maintain competitiveness, because consumer purchasing power is predicted to weaken.
That is, Samsung will take a smaller profit margin. According to South Korean media reports, Samsung's revenue for its mobile device division grew 13.3 percent from Q2 to Q3 2022. However, Samsung's operating profit plunged 3.6 percent.
This is because Samsung's flagship HP contributes large revenue to the manufacturer. However, on the other hand, the increasingly expensive prices of HP components make Samsung have to spend more.
How much does the Galaxy S23 cost?
No matter how much Samsung is able to sell its products, the profit will be slim if it does not increase the selling price.
Price leaks for the Galaxy S23 have also been posted. The standard variant of the Galaxy S23 will reportedly be set at US$ 799 (around Rp. 12.4 million).
The Galaxy S23 Plus starts at US$ 999 (equivalent to Rp. 15.5 million), and the Galaxy S23 Ultra starts from US$ 1199 (equivalent to Rp. 18.7 million).
