5 Exact Reasons Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 is Better to Choose Than 1.2
Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 is not the highest variant prepared by PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) of the entire Daihatsu Sigra type range in Indonesia. Even so, the Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 is also the backbone product for ADM's sales besides the Sigra type 1.2.
As a 7-seater LCGC, apart from targeting the entry level segment, especially for families in Indonesia who want to learn to use four-wheeled vehicles from previously only using motorbikes, the Daihatsu Sigra is widely used as an application-based online taxi fleet.
The car, which has a twin called the Toyota Calya, received its first facelift in September 2019 which came with changes to the exterior and interior. In terms of appearance, this model uses multi-reflector LED headlights, a new grill and front bumper, a new foglamp housing design, new design alloy wheels and a longer rear trunk door garnish.
Meanwhile, in the interior there is a change in the color scheme of the cabin, the use of an audio system complete with a reverse camera, a new model AC knob, electric folding mirrors, as well as the availability of additional storage under the passenger seat, and a transmission indicator on the dashboard, especially for automatic transmission models).
Furthermore, in July 2022, ADM will again present a facelift for the Daihatsu Sigra, the changes include the front grille, a new alloy wheel design, the outside mirror covers are now black, and the Deluxe type has a new cutting sticker design.
Daihatsu Indonesia provides the Sigra model with two engine options, both of which run on gasoline. The first is a 1,000 cc 3 cylinder engine with the code 1KR-VE, while the other engine has a capacity of 1,200 cc 4 cylinder with the code 3NR-VE.
Regarding the price of the latest Daihatsu Sigra, ADM is currently offering this car with a price tag ranging from IDR 139 million to IDR 182.6 million. Having many variants, quite a few people say that the Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 has many advantages over the 1.2 engine variant. So what factors make Sigra 1.0 more suitable to choose? Here's why.
1. The price of the Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 is more affordable
The first reason the Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 is more suitable for middle-class people is the price. According to the official Daihatsu Indonesia website, the 1.0 D MT type of this car is priced at IDR 139 million, while the 1.0 M MT type is priced at IDR 149.6 million.
Having a new price of under IDR 150 million, is the right reason for some people to choose the Sigra 1.0. Compare this with the price of the latest Daihatsu Sigra which uses a 1.2 engine, for the lowest type, namely 182 million.
2. Sigra 1.0 fuel consumption is more economical
Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 is equipped with an engine with a capacity of 998 cc with code 1KR-VE, 12-valve 3 cylinders in line, DOHC, VVT-i. The engine with Electronic Fuel Injection technology that it uses can produce power of 67 PS at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 89.25 Nm at 4,400 rpm.
To make it run, the engine is combined with a 5-speed manual transmission, without the option of an automatic transmission. Being included in the LCGC vehicle class, Sigra is required to comply with fuel usage regulations for a minimum distance of 20 km/liter.
Based on actual testing, the fuel consumption of the Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 with a combined driving style in the city can cover a distance of 17 km/liter. This is different when traveling outside the city at a constant speed, the fuel usage reaches up to 22 km/liter.
Now let's compare it with the Sigra with a 1,200 cc (1.2-liter) engine with a 4 cylinder DOHC Dual VVT-i configuration. This engine produces greater peak power, namely 88 PS at 6,000 rpm with maximum torque of 108 Nm at 4,200 rpm.
Even though there are both types that use a 5-speed manual transmission, during road testing, the Sigra 1.2 variant recorded a fuel usage figure of 14 km/liter when used in the city, while when used outside the city, this car can cover a distance of 19 km /liter.
3. Sigra 1.0 is liked because of its cheap taxes
The next reason the Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 is preferable to the 1.2 is because of its affordable tax value. As is known, the tax on the 2022 Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 type D alert is IDR 1,800,000, while the Sigra 1.0 M is IDR 1,940,000. Compare this with the Sigra 1.2 variant in the same year, the annual tax amount starts from IDR 2,120,000 to IDR 2,400,000. This cheaper tax will certainly reduce the cost of owning the vehicle.
4. Sigra 1.0 features are quite complete
At a low price, Sigra 1.0 turns out to have quite complete features. As can be seen on the M type, this car uses dark smoked LED headlights which make it look even more sporty, attractive and stylish. On the side area, you can also see that the mirrors have been painted in body color, while at the rear, the M type also has a wiper applied to the glass.
Looking at the inside, this car has an ECO indicator, digital clock, MID screen and tachometer, and is even equipped with arm rests in the first row. In terms of entertainment, the manufacturer has equipped it with a single din head unit which supports several formats to provide comfort while driving. Can accommodate 7 people at once, this type is also equipped with an air circulator in the second row, the same as the Sigra 1.2, both X and R.
With this feature, second and third row passengers will be more comfortable when driving for a long time, because the cool air from the front can be distributed evenly to the rear. Regarding driving safety, Sigra M is equipped with rear parking sensors, immobilizer, and integrated key & remote.
As a form of protection, the manufacturer has equipped it with side impact beams, child proof door locks, Total Advance Function (TAF) Body and seatbelts on all seats.
5. Easier and Cheaper Maintenance
Another advantage of the Daihatsu Sigra 1.0 is that maintenance is easier and cheaper. Considering that the technology presented is simpler, the engine volume is smaller than the 1.2 variant. Cheaper maintenance costs are also an added value for the owner.
