Specifications for the BYD E6 Gen 2 in Indonesia which is the Bluebird Taxi
The specifications of the BYD E6 gen 2 used in the Bluebird taxi fleet cannot be underestimated. The reason is that the specifications for this electric car, which is presented directly from China, have not had any features cut.
For your information, PT Blue Bird Tbk. introduced the BYD E6 gen 2 electric car through the 2024 Periklindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) which took place from 30 to 5 May. As a well-known taxi company in Indonesia that has existed since 1965, Bluebird first used electric cars as its taxi fleet in 2019.
The electric car not only serves Bluebird taxis, but also Silverbird premium taxis and Goldenbird rental cars. Until March 2024, Bluebird has more than 200 electric fleets serving customers in Jabodetabek and Bali.
The use of electric cars as a taxi fleet is said to have succeeded in reducing as much as 6,500 tons of carbon emissions. The BYD electric cars used in the Bluebird taxi fleet include the BYD E6 gen 1 and BYD T3.
As Bluebird's newest electric car from the Chinese manufacturer, the new E6 gen 2 will be used as a taxi vehicle starting in the third quarter of 2024. In the first phase of the E6 Gen 2 there will be 25 units that will be used as taxis, which will only be delivered in the third quarter of this year.
BYD E6 Gen 2 Specifications Used by Bluebird
The E6 Gen 2 used by Bluebird is actually a 5-seater MPV. Before it arrived in Indonesia, the E6 gen 2 was generally sold in Australia and Singapore. In fact, the figure of the E6 gen 2 itself was seen at the launch of the BYD brand which took place at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) last January.
Looks luxurious and elegant
In terms of exterior design, the BYD E6 gen 2 looks luxurious and elegant. The curves and lines applied to the body are not bold, the body design and dimensions present the E6 gen 2 which looks very proportional. In the facade appearance, the grill uses a hexagon side with small holes.
At the end of the bumper there is an accent notch which is usually used as a perch for the fog lamps. Regarding the main lighting system, this car uses projector technology with high-low light settings. With the presence of this feature, the light produced can be adjusted according to driving needs. On the side, the E6 gen 2 has 17 inch multi-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 215/55 profile tires.
The rearview mirror is equipped with an electric adjustment feature which makes it easier for the driver when he wants to adjust his view to see objects behind him. Impressing luxury, the rear pillar carries a floating concept with side windows connected to the trunk.
To further emphasize the luxurious impression, the glass is surrounded by a chrome plate. Moving to the stern, the top of the car is equipped with a spoiler and shark fin antenna which can improve driving aerodynamics.
The stop lamp looks dynamic and luxurious thanks to the shape it has received, as well as the use of LED technology in it. Above the stop lamp, this car has an elongated chrome list that connects the two sides. On the bumper, you can see that this car has a pair of parking sensors and a pair of light reflectors on the bumper.
In the same class as the BYD E6 Gen 2 Taxi Car, the interior looks comfortable and prestigious
The interior of the BYD E5 gen 2 looks comfortable and prestigious. In the cockpit area, this car uses a multi-level dashboard with a black panel accent in the middle. In the center cluster there is a 10.1 inch touch screen head unit with a floating concept that can be rotated.
The meter cluster is equipped with a tachometer and odometer with an analog appearance, with a 5 inch TFT instrument display on the top which can display various information about the vehicle. The steering wheel of this car is equipped with tilt and telescopic features, the right side of which has several adjustment buttons.
Looking at other features, this car is equipped with power windows on all doors as well as an engine start/stop button on the left side which makes it easier for the driver when they want to turn on or cut off the car's electricity as a whole.
Not only that, in the center console area there are various feature buttons such as ECO mode, parking sensor, VSC, hazard, AC settings and defogger. Behind the button there is a rotary style transmission operating lever, then two cup holders, the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) and the arm rest.
The driver and front passenger seats have 6-way adjustments even though they are done manually. The seats themselves are covered in black leather up to the second row. In the middle row, this car has AC ventilation and two USB ports right behind the first row arm rest, which can provide comfort to passengers during the trip.
Great Safety and Security Features
Based on the specifications listed in the brochure, the E6 gen 2 is equipped with 4 airbags, rear camera, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Hydraulic Brake Assist, seatbelt reminder, child safety lock and isofix. Then from a security perspective, we get a keyless entry system which makes it easier for users to open or lock the car, while minimizing theft.
Can run as far as 522 kilometers
BYD E6 gen 2 is equipped with a single electric motor at the front, AC permanent magnet synchronous type, combined with a single speed automatic transmission. Using a front-wheel drive system, the power produced is 70 kW (95 PS) with a peak torque of 180 Nm. The electric motor gets power from the Blade Battery (LFP) with a power of 71.7 kWh.
Based on driving tests in the city using the WLTC method, a fully charged battery can drive the car for 522 kilometers. Meanwhile, the charging method is divided into two, namely DC CCS2 60 kW and AC Type 2 40 kW. The charging time using the DC method takes 1.5 hours, while AC takes 1.8 hours.
