Formula E provides an opportunity for automotive manufacturers to demonstrate the achievements of electric energy innovation through racing events. Then the results can be applied to mass production.
Nissan became the first and only Japanese car manufacturer to enter Formula E, and was a pioneer in designing and manufacturing attractive electric cars. Present in Jakarta for the 2022 Formula E Jakarta championship, the Nissan e.dams racing team is piloted by Sebastien Buemi and Maximilian Gunther.
Quoted by Antara news agency from Nissan Indonesia's official release, Nissan will prove the Nissan LEAF technology used by the Nissan e.dams racing team through a match at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC), Ancol, North Jakarta, Saturday (4/6/2022) .
"The Nissan LEAF technology used by the Nissan e.dams team is able to change the way car consumers in Indonesia drive and enjoy life," said Tan Kim Piauw, Sales and Marketing Director of PT Nissan Motor Distributor Indonesia.
"It is an honor for Nissan Indonesia to introduce the Nissan e.dams Team which will participate in Formula E 2022, so that customers can prove for themselves Nissan's commitment to bringing electrified mobility closer to the people of Indonesia," he continued.
Nissan LEAF or the abbreviation of Leading, Environmentally Friendly, Affordable, Family Car (LEAF) with technology used for Formula E racing, was launched in Indonesia in August 2021 and Nissan Global has sold more than 500,000 Nissan LEAF since its first launch in the world in 2010.
The Nissan LEAF is a testament to Nissan's use of mass electric car production experience to build Formula E racing mounts.
"Nissan LEAF's zero-emissions vehicle embodies Nissan Intelligent Mobility, Nissan's philosophy of changing the way cars are driven, powered and integrated into society.
And now we see evidence of how Nissan is sharing technology from mass-produced cars with Formula E racing cars," said Tan Kim Piauw.
