The Chinese company, Space Transportation will build a plane with supersonic speed. The distance between Beijing and New York can be reached in only 1 hour.
The company said it was developing a tourism vehicle which is a combination of an airplane and a winged rocket. This mode of transportation is believed to be able to fly from Beijing to New York, which is about 7,000 kilometers, in just one hour.
A digital presentation on the company's website shows a passenger jet attached to two booster rockets, then being flown vertically. The passenger jet then detached from the boost rocket and then flew into a suborbital and accelerated at supersonic speed.
The boost rocket then landed on Earth vertically. The way it works is similar to the Falcon 9 rocket made by SpaceX. Meanwhile, passenger planes also made a similar landing after arriving at their destination.
The vehicle is said to have lower operating costs than 'rockets that carry satellites and are faster than traditional aircraft'.
BGR explained on Sunday (20/3) that Space Transport will conduct tests in 2023. Then it is hoped that the first flight of this supersonic jet can be carried out in 2024.
Furthermore, the first flight to carry passengers is targeted at 2025. The Chinese company also plans to conduct flight tests of space vehicles in 2030.
Space tourism has become an interesting topic of late, especially since NASA wants to make it more open to more people by 2030, when the ISS space station enters retirement.
In addition to Space Transportation from China, other companies such as Virgin Galactic have also carried out flights into space. Meanwhile, Elon Musk's SpaceX is also planning to build a suborbital flight system.
