Mercedes-AMG C43 2023 Comes with 2.0 Liter Turbo Engine 450 HP

Mercedes-Benz has redesigned the C-Class for the 2022 model year, leaving us eagerly awaiting the rest of the lineup. Now, the company is ready to introduce its AMG variant, starting with the Mercedes-AMG C43 2023 sedan.

The styling changes made by Mercedes on the standard C-Class, get the AMG treatment on the C43 2023. It doesn't stray far from the previous C43, but this updated design does feel fresh.

The new C43 sports the Panamericana grille from AMG, which sits above the lower front bumper and is slightly more aggressive than the standard face of the C-Class.

Mercedes replaced the chrome trim around the greenhouse with black trim.

At the rear, the C43 has four round exhaust pipes sticking out of the rear bumper with a slim spoiler in the trunk.

It adds a sporty touch to the design. The unit that powers the new C43 is the electrified 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder M139l engine.

It produces 402 horsepower (300 kilowatts) and 369 pound-feet (500 Newton-meters) of torque, with the boost function increasing power by 13 hp.

This four-cylinder engine has a 48-volt mild hybrid system.

The current generation C43 uses a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine to produce 385 hp (287 kW) and 384 lb-ft (520 Nm) of torque.

Power is sent through AMG's nine-speed multi-clutch automatic transmission, sent to all four wheels. The Mercedes 4Matic all-wheel-drive system splits power between 31 and 69 percent between the front and rear wheels.

The new C43 will come with a range of driving modes, including a "Race Start" function designed for optimal acceleration from a standstill.

This car will also come with Sport, Sport+, Comfort, and Individual modes. AMG Ride Control with Adaptive Damping System and rear-axle steering are standard features on the C43 2023.

Braking power comes from four-piston fixed calipers at the front, and one-piston floating calipers at the rear. Mercedes designed a turbocharger in the engine to reduce lag, using technology taken from Formula 1 to integrate a thin 1.6-inch electric motor into its shaft.

This allows the car to directly drive the axle, accelerating the compressor wheels before the exhaust gases take over.

Mercedes says the sedan can reach 60 miles per hour (100 km/h) in an estimated 4.6 seconds.

The company electronically limits its top speed to 155 miles/hour (250 km/h), which can increase to 165 miles/hour (265 km/h) when the car is equipped with optional 19 or 20-inch alloy wheels.

Meanwhile, eighteen-inch wheels are standard. On the inside, the C43 adopts a redesigned model interior, taking inspiration from the new Mercedes S-Class.

However, they added some sporty touches, such as AMG seats, AMG flat-bottom steering wheel, AMG sport pedals, and red topstitching throughout the interior.

Drivers view the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, while the 11.9-inch center touchscreen provides access to the vehicle's infotainment and control systems.

Mercedes hasn't announced how much the C43 2023 will cost yet, but we're sure the company will release those details closer to its sales date.
