In fact, the electric cars that were launched at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS 2023, namely the Kia EV9 GT-Line and Kia EV6 GT, turned out to be selling well.
According to the Head of Sales of PT Kreta Indo Artha (KIA), Utama Kovara, with the Kia EV9 GT-Line and Kia EV6 GT, it really helps to raise not only the image of the KIA brand, but also the SPK (Vehicle Order Letter) which is quite significant.
"Our hope is that this positive trend will continue until the end of the year," Utama said in a written statement.
So, at the GIIAS 2023 event which lasted 11 days, out of a total of 556 Vehicle Order Letters (SPK) for all KIA product lines, 115 units were specifically for electric cars.
In detail, the Kia EV9 GT-Line, which is also the favorite electric car at GIIAS 2023, was ordered with an SPK of 71 units. Followed by the Kia EV6 GT with 24 units of SPK, while the Kia EV6 GT-Line has 20 units.
However, internal combustion engine cars contributed SPK figures of 441 units, coming from the Kia Sonet with 159 units, then Kia Carens reaching 153 units (6-seater: 79 units and 7-seater 74 units), then KIA Grand Carnival with 73 units. , and Kia Seltos reached 56 units.
Rich People Buy KIA Electric Cars
It should be noted, the people who buy KIA electric cars are certainly not from the mending community. On the other hand, they are rich people who not only want to have an electric car, but also want to be different and don't want to be visible on the street.
The reason is, when questioning the price of the KIA electric car, the price is above one billion. This is different from the price of electric cars, which are currently sold in the national automotive market for less than IDR 1 billion.
Just look, for the Kia EV9 GT-Line itself, a Sport Utility Vehicle-style electric car sells for IDR 1,975,000,000 on the road in Jakarta.
Meanwhile, the KIA EV6 GT Line, which has a sporty style like a supercar with an electric engine, has to exchange a dowry of IDR 1,699,000,000 on the road in Jakarta.
As for the KIA EV6, which was launched in Indonesia some time ago, the price is IDR 400 million cheaper than the EV6 GT Line, which reaches IDR 1,299,000,000 on the road in Jakarta.
