Xiaomi SU7 has finally been officially released, this is the first electric car made by the Chinese technology company, Xiaomi.
Xiaomi, a technology company which is also known as a manufacturer of smartphones and other electronic devices, is now entering automotive manufacturing, by preparing its first electric car, namely the Xiaomi SU7.
The presence of the SU7 will certainly shake up the electric car market, especially in China, which incidentally is now increasingly developing and crowded with many players.
According to Carnewschina, (21/11/2023), the SU7, previously called MS11, will be produced through the Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co. Ltd (BAIC) assembly plant, in Beijing, China.
The leaked images of the SU7 are quite interesting considering that this sports sedan type electric car has a futuristic and modern appearance.
But it should be noted, currently the SU7 has not been launched and the detailed price has not been announced, but Xiaomi is currently applying for approval to sell its first electric car to the local government.
Therefore, the leaked images of the SU7 are known to have come from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
Where before being marketed, all automotive products must go through MIIT in order to be published, through a homologation process.
So, you want to know how great the Xiaomi SU7 is which is predicted to have three choices, namely SU7, SU7 Pro and SU7, here is the review.
Xiaomi SU7 design
As mentioned above, the SU7 is an electric car in the form of a four-door, five-passenger sedan. For dimensions, the SU7 is 4,997 mm long, 1,963 mm wide and 1,455 mm high, with a weight of 1,980 kg.
The SU7 comes with a choice of two wheel sizes, namely 19 inches and 20 inches, each of which is wrapped in tires with a profile of 245/45 R19 and 245/40 R20.
From its appearance, the Xiaomi SU7 electric car is similar to a sports car, especially with its aerodynamic shape.
Apart from that, the front appearance of this car is also quite attractive thanks to the triangular-shaped headlights, but with sharp edges similar to the McLaren 750S.
It is stated that the SU7 will be available in two technology versions, namely the standard version and the Light Detection Ranging (Lidar) version as a component of the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
This car is so sophisticated, you can see that at the top of the windshield and the B pillar there is a sensor camera which is strongly suspected to be a facial recognition feature for opening the car door.
Oh, as the identity of this car there is a Mi logo that is similar to Xiaomi products, both on smartphones and others. Unfortunately, there are no leaks about the cabin yet. However, if you look at its shape, this car can accommodate 4-5 passengers.
Xiaomi SU7 performance
This Xiaomi electric car comes in two drive system options, namely rear-wheel drive (RWD) with a 220 kW motor and all-wheel drive (AWD) with a 495 kW motor.
The battery will use the Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) type made by BYD for the lowest type, while the highest type will be equipped with a Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery from CATL.
It is stated that the lowest type of SU7, which weighs 1,980 kg, can travel at a maximum speed of 210 km per hour, while the highest type, which weighs 2,205 kg, can travel at a speed of 265 km per hour.
The SU7 has adopted an operating system similar to Xiaomi smart devices, namely HyperOS, so that the sophisticated features on smartphones can be implemented in this car.
The plan is that the Xiaomi SU7 will begin mass production, starting in December 2023 and delivery will take place in February 2024.
