NETA V Electric Car Battery Passes IP68, This is What's Better Than IP67
The safety aspect is a priority for manufacturers in developing electric vehicles, this is what NETA has implemented in one of its electric cars, the NETA V.
As NETA Auto Indonesia's first electric car to be officially sold in Indonesia, NETA V has passed dust and water resistance tests by obtaining IP68 certification.
In contrast to electric cars in general which receive IP67 certification, said the Senior Manager After Sales of NETA Auto Indonesia, Januar Eka Sapta, that this electric car battery achieved IP68 certification by having better strength or resistance when immersing the battery in water, without causing leaks or damage. .
"NETA V has passed IP68 certification. With IP67 the difference is only 1 meter water depth in IP67 and 1.5 meters for IP68," he said on the sidelines of the Neta V Drive Test Media event, Monday (12/12/2023).
January added, when submerged in water, the battery can operate normally for up to 30 minutes.
"There's no need to worry if your car is submerged in floodwater up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. The car battery will not be damaged nor will it cause an electrical short circuit.
Unless the battery has an injury, whether it was hit by a rock. "If the battery is injured, water can enter it and cause a short circuit," he said.
NETA V can cover a distance of up to 401 kilometers with a battery charge of only 30 minutes
As the main power source, NETA V is equipped with a Lithium-ion battery (LFP) with a capacity of 40.7 kWh with HEPT 3.0 thermostatic management system technology, which can maintain the battery temperature in optimal condition.
According to CLTC, the battery in full condition can drive the car for 401 kilometers, or 384 kilometers based on NEDC. To make it run, the electric power is transmitted to a single electric motor at the front, producing 70 kW (95 PS) of power and 150 Nm of torque.
In order to adjust the desired driving style, this car has 2 modes, namely; Normal and Sport which is called Athletic. Interestingly, this electric car is equipped with regenerative braking with several levels, up to a one pedal feature.
This feature functions to charge the battery by utilizing kinetic energy from the braking process. Talking about the charging method used, this car is equipped with a quick charging system with a DC fast charging socket.
The charging time from 30% to 80% using the DC Fast Charging method only takes 30 minutes. If you use a home charger with AC current, from 0-100% it takes 8 hours.
NETA V's safety features are quite complete
In terms of driving safety features, NETA V is quite complete. It is known that this car is equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Cruise Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
Apart from that, there is also Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Hill Descent Control (HDC), HEPT 3.0 Battery Temprature Management System, dual SRS airbags, seatbelt reminder, parking sensors and rear camera.
For driving safety, there is an immobilizer system, alarm system and keyless entry.
