Tips to Speed Up Internet on Windows

There are many ways we can do to speed up your internet connection, starting with changing the modem, the software used and from Windows itself.

Well, what I will share this time is speeding up the internet by slightly tweaking the bandwidth quota that has been hidden by Windows.

A tip for us to browse faster, on a computer using Windows XP Prof or Windows Home Edition OS.

In Windows there is something called QoS which is fully named Quality of Service provided with the aim of ensuring your network is working properly.

But in reality it is not that useful but it can certainly take up to 20% of your bandwidth. You can try and see the difference when QoS is turned off.

The steps to turn off QoS are as follows:

2. Type ?"gpedit.msc" in the input box, then press enter.
3. In Local Computer Policy, click the plus sign on Computer Configuration, then click again on Administrative Templates.
4. Click the plus sign on Network and select QoS Packet Scheduler.
5. On the right side of the box, double-click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth.
6. In Settings, select Enabled.
7. In the Bandwidth Limit % box, change the contents to 0%. (Do not leave the contents blank)
8. Click OK.

For Windows Home Edition

1. Click Start and then select Settings.
2. Select Control Panel, and open Network Connections
3. Right-click on Local Area Connection and select Properties.
4. On the General tab, the check mark on QoS is gone.

Okay, now just check to access the internet, is there a difference…..???? good luck and hopefully it helps.
