Remote desktop uses the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) protocol.
This is a technology that you can use to connect to a computer that is located far from reach, through another computer that is near you so that you can use a computer that is far away as if using it directly.
Remote Desktop is one of the features included in the Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
Through this Remote Desktop feature, you can easily access and move the mouse, input keyboard, run applications and various other activities even though the location is not close and the network is different.
You can do the Windows 7, 8, 10 & 11 remote desktop method by following these easy steps:
1. Settings on the PC to be remote
- On the PC that you want to remotely click on the Start icon on your Windows 10 device
- Then click Settings
- On the Settings menu, click the System option menu
- Locate and click on Remote Desktop feature
- Then you will enter the Remote Desktop settings menu, then you just select On in the Enable Remote Desktop option
- If you find the Enable Remote Desktop notification, then all you have to do is click the Confirm tab
- Next on the desktop, right-click on the Windows icon
- Then select the System menu
- Then copy the computer name of this PC for later use to another PC that is remotely PC
2. Setting on the PC that will be used to remotely the previous PC
- On the PC that you will use to remotely the previous PC, click the Windows button and type remote desktop connection
- Then click on the Remote Desktop Connection option
- Then enter the name of the PC computer that you copied earlier
- Then select Connect
- Enter the login password for the PC to be remote and select OK
- After that, you will be connected to the PC you want to remote.
Now you are ready to use Remote Desktop Connection.
