Google Hands over Production of Pixel 7 and Pixel Foldable to Foxconn
While Google hasn't been heard officially confirming it will produce a foldable phone, the well-known Weibo tipster, Digital Chat Station, claims that Google is still planning to release it in the fourth quarter of this year.
Production will likely be handled by Foxconn and will begin in Q3 2022. Additionally, Foxconn will have production orders for the Pixel 7, according to a tweet dated August 3, 2022.
The leaker revealed some important details about the Pixel Foldable. He believes that the device will feature a 2K display with a punch-cutout hole for the selfie camera, while a 50MP periscope camera with a variable focal length will be the star of the show. That camera will be assisted by a secondary IMX787 sensor.
Of course, the device will use a custom Tensor 2 chip while the body will be made of ceramic.

Meanwhile, the Pixel 6 specs will be a shadow of the Pixel 7. The device measures 158.6 x 74.8 x 8.9 mm and weighs 207 grams, and has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and HDR10+. In addition, it has an 83.4% screen-to-body ratio with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
With a 4,614 mAh battery capacity supported by 30 W fast charging, Google claims it can charge 50 percent in 30 minutes and can do 21 W wireless fast charging.
The chipset used by Google Tensor (5 nm) is combined with 8 GB of RAM and storage capacity between 128 GB and 256 GB.
While the rear camera consists of 50 MP, wide f/1.9 and 12 MP, f/2.2, ultra wide. Video capability 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps; gyro-EIS, OIS 4K@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps; gyro-EIS, OIS. On the front camera is a wide 8 MP, f/2.0 with 1080p@30fps video capability.
