Hyundai's line-up has increased with the presence of the Santa Cruz SUV. The model, which has been anticipated since 2015, was officially launched on April 15, 2021, virtually via the @HyundaiUSA Youtube channel.
Hyundai calls Santa Cruz a new breakthrough that has never been on the market. This car is included in three segments at once, SUV, Truck and Crossover.
"Santa Cruz 2022 breaks new ground in the SUV, Truck and Crossover segment by offering a true Sports Adventure Vehicle unlike anything else in the US market," Hyundai wrote on its official website.
Not without reason, by design the Hyundai Santa Cruz deserves to occupy all three. It looks dashing, bold, and futuristic with the characteristics of a double cabin pick-up.
The firm lines combined with the curvature of the curves in some parts make it both character and graceful. The design of the lamps is unique. At the front is on the left and right together with a grille that resembles a wing. At the rear, the left and right headlights are shaped like a hammer with a long handle penetrating the cargo door.
The identity of the vehicle is clarified by the inscription Santa Cruz which is printed in large on the outside of the cargo door with a deboss technique. Under no circumstances will this writing be lost, unlike stickers or emblems that stick out prominently.
The interior is characterized as an SUV with a seating capacity of 5 people (including the driver).
Hyundai offers powerful and efficient powertrain options, electrically retractable cargo, state-of-the-art connectivity, and an all-wheel drive platform that's friendly in urban environments and capable of off-roading.
For performance, there are two engine options, namely the 2,500 cc GDI MPI 4-cylinder diesel with 190 hp and 2,500 cc turbocharged petrol with 275 hp. The car is equipped with two transmission options, SHIFTRONIC® 8 speed automatic and 8 speed Wet Dual Clutch.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz is manufactured at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) plant from June and will go on sale starting this summer (between June 20 - September 22). However, for customers who really want to buy, they can already make a reservation with a ready sign in the form of a 100 USD deposit.
