5 Technology Behind the 108 MP Samsung Galaxy A73 5G Camera

Mobile phone cameras have now achieved an evolution that was never imagined before. Even though it is hindered by its thin size, it affects the limited size of the lens that can be carried.

But in a number of ways, cellphone cameras can now achieve high resolutions with details that are no less amazing than even a pocket camera.

We can experience this, one of which is the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G, which has a main camera with a resolution of 108 MP.

The first question that may arise in our minds is, how come?

How can a cellphone camera, which incidentally has a lens, as well as a sensor with a limited size, and is relatively thin in order to maintain the form factor of the cellphone itself, can produce large images of 108 MP?

Apparently this was achieved through a number of technological inventions both software and hardware. Starting with concocting the ability of the camera chipset or commonly called the Image Signal Processor, which is triggered and refined by software that is embedded in the cellphone.

Here are some of the technologies that are present in the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G, which are related to the ability to shoot images in 108 MP size:

Triple ISP Qualcomm Spectra 570L

The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G is reinforced with an image signal processor that is in the Snapdragon 778G 5G chip. Namely, the Qualcomm Spectra 570L which is a triple ISP.

Making it capable of capturing images from 3 cameras at a time, combining up to 3 camera results to create one image with high resolution.

AI based nona-binning technology

Software-wise, the first thing that allows the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G to take 108 MP pictures is the presence of AI-based nona-binning technology. This technique will combine 9 pixels into one large pixel so that it can increase the detail in the photos and also applies to videos.

This technology has already been present on several Samsung flagship phones, including the Galaxy S22 series 5G. And now we can feel it on Samsung's A series phones, whose prices are relatively competitive.

Detail Enhancer and Enhanced HDR technologies

These two technologies are actually similar technologies but work in different domains. Where Detail Enhancer will help cellphones to create sharper photos and increase the brightness of images by combining many samples into one.

In the same way, Enhanced HDR works more in the realm of lighting dynamics in photos. The method is the same, that is, by combining two or more images from one shot, the system will combine the two images to become one image with sharp details, also with lighting that has a high dynamic range.

Big Pixel Sensor Technology

This technology will reduce noise in images drastically, without reducing the quality of photos that are enlarged from 12MP camera shots with Binning technology to 108 MP.

Optical Image Stabilization

Maybe there are some of us who think that the OIS or optical image stabilization feature only works for video capture.

In fact, the presence of OIS on the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G camera also functions to provide stability for taking photos or images so as to reduce distortion when the system increases the size of the photo.

The more stable the photos, the easier it will be for AI to concoct the resulting photos to become more detailed photos up to 108 MP.

Especially when we do it in inadequate lighting conditions, where capturing light usually takes longer than shooting in optimal lighting.

  1. If the weather widget in Windows 11 is showing the wrong location, there are a few things you can try to fix this issue:

Make sure that your device's location settings are turned on and that you have granted the weather widget permission to access your location.

Check that the widget is set to show the weather for your current location. To do this, right-click on the widget and select "Options" or "Settings." Look for an option to set the location, and make sure that it is set to your current location.

If the widget is still showing the wrong location, try resetting it by right-clicking on the widget and selecting "Remove." Then, add the widget back to your desktop by going to the "Add a widget" screen and selecting the weather widget.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, try restarting your device. This can sometimes resolve issues with widgets and other applications.
