BMW iX M60 2023 Offers 610 HP Power and 450 Km Range

This BMW electric crossover can accelerate to 96 km / h in 3.6 seconds with launch control

The BMW iX is already a powerful and elegant electric crossover, with one of the most luxurious interiors besides Rolls-Royce products.

Now, the level has gone up even further after BMW introduced the company's first electric crossover with the M badge. Yes, this is a BMW iX M60 2023.

The BMW iX M60 uses two electric motors and an 111.5 kilowatt-hour battery for a combined output of up to 610 horsepower (449 kilowatts) and 811 pound-feet (1,100 newton-meters), in short bursts when Sport mode and launch control are activated.

In Normal steering mode, this EV crossover loses a bit of power, but still offers a decent 532 hp (391 kW) and 749 lb-ft (1,015 nm).

Those numbers represent an increase of 16 hp and 185 lb-ft over the xDrive50 model (base trim in the United States), or 94 hp and 247 lb-ft in Sport mode and Launch Control on.

Armed with it, the iX M60 is capable of sprinting to 60 miles/hour (96 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 155 miles/hour (250 km/h).

To improve handling, the iX M60 uses standard adaptive air suspension, with electronically controlled shock absorbers and rear-wheel steering.

These features are optional on the xDrive50 model as part of the Sport package

Other standard components are larger M Performance brakes, finished with a sleek blue paint finish plus the M logo.

The BMW iX M60 has an EPA estimated range of around 280 miles (450 km) on a single charge for a model equipped with 21-inch base wheels. It still falls short when compared to the 300-mile (483 km) estimate for the base model xDrive50.

However, with a maximum charging speed of 250 kilowatts, the iX M60 only takes 36 minutes to recharge to 80 percent on a DC fast charging station.

The visual differences between the xDrive50 and M60 models are subtle

Individual Titanium Bronze accents adorn the exterior, with the M logo finished in High Gloss Black and a new Titanium Bronze on the back.

Buyers can opt for new 22-inch aerodynamic wheels with a matching Titanium Bronze design, but the 21-inch variant is the standard setting.

Then, there are seven exterior color choices, namely Alpine White, Dark Graphite, Phytonic Blue, Blue Ridge Mountain, Storm Bay, Oxide Grey, and Aventurin Red.

Minor changes have been made to the cabin, with the iX M60 adopting the same BMW Live Cockpit as the standard iX.

The setup includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch center touchscreen.

Almost all of the same high-end features are carried along, with brushed aluminum accents and crystal details, such as the shift knob and iDrive controls.

The option of SensaTec faux leather or perforated genuine cowhide is used to upholster the cab. The seats come in five color options: Oyster, Mocha, Black, Amido and Castanea Chestnut.

Other standard features include active safety systems such as adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam assist, 360-degree parking camera, and Parking Assistant Plus, which automatically parks the car with minimal driver intervention.

Apart from that, you'll also get features like wireless phone charging, 5G wi-fi hotspot, and a premium Bowers And Wilkins sound system.

The BMW iX M60 2023 will arrive in the US in June, with a starting price of $106,095 - including $995 in destination and handling fees.

For comparison, the base xDrive50 model starts at $84,195 in the US ($995 including destination fee).
