The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX concept electric car will be launched in 2022. This car carries a solar power concept that makes this electric car travel 1,000 kilometers on a single charge.
Although still a concept car, the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX will soon enter the production kitchen. Currently the Mercedes-Benz team is taking a multi-disciplinary development approach in terms of components and technology to be applied in production.
"Many innovations come from this technology program," said Simonette Illi-Haußmann, Manager of Communications Transformation and Innovation at Mercedes-Benz AG.
Simonette said the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX electric car is part of a more technological program to push the boundaries of technical feasibility and to accelerate the transfer of innovation to its production stage.
Concept electric cars have three main advantages in their fields, namely Efficiency, Transformation, and Collaboration.
In terms of efficiency, Simonette said, the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX is the most efficient vehicle ever made by the German car manufacturer.
"Capable of driving more than 1,000 kilometers or more than 620 miles on a single charge with zero emissions."
The second advantage is Transformation. The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX is a testament to Mercedes-Benz's transformation into an electric and software-based company. It also demonstrates technological leadership and expertise in electric cars.
The last advantage is Collaboration. This means that the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX is the result of a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz internally and externally. Experts from the Mercedes-Benz R&D team collaborate with a cross-functional team with expertise from Formula 1, innovative start-ups from around the world, and the latest software and digital tools from the games and movies sector.
