A number of automotive brands are trying to dedicate their companies as electric vehicle manufacturers, and it turns out that Porsche will also do this.
According to Porsche's head of the e-fuel development unit, Karl Dums, the company will target sales of pure electric cars to reach 80 percent by 2030.
Meanwhile, 20 percent are gasoline cars, where the last model sold was the Porsche 911.
"Our strategy is first of all to move to electric mobility and we will produce the 911 as long as possible with combustion engines," Dums said.
It is stated that during 2022, Porsche cars such as the 911 will not have large sales, because they only contribute 13 percent.
Even so, for Porsche the most important thing is to maintain the image of a brand, and also how to process it. Therefore, all Porsche car models have slowly been converted or replaced with electric cars.
As for the Porsche 911, the company based in Stuttgart, Germany is said to be maintaining the car, which still carries a gasoline engine, as long as possible.
Porsche electric car
It is known that along with the development of electric cars, Porsche has actually developed it, where the first model uses an electric technology engine, namely the Porsche Macan.
The electric Porsche Macan is said to be based on the Premium Platform Electric, whose development was carried out with Audi.
The leak is that this Porsche Macan will be embedded with an electric motor that drives each wheel, where the battery used has a power of 100 kWh.
Compared to the gasoline engine, it is clear that the electric Macan will be very different in both power and torque.
In fact, according to sources, this crossover SUV-style car can generate up to 595 Tk of power and 738 lb-ft of torque. As for sales of the electric Porsche Macan, it will go on sale in 2023.
Apart from the electric Macan, Porsche is rumored to be returning to present an electric car based on the 718 Boxster a year later, which is currently under development.
Well, apart from that, other Porsche cars that will also switch to electric technology are the Cayman and Cayenne.
