Using Honda Connect, The All New CR-V Can Chat With Its Owner


The development of information technology (IT) which has penetrated the automotive industry has led PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) to introduce Honda Connect connectivity technology.

This is a feature that allows the All New Honda CR-V to connect with its owner via a car application downloaded on the cellphone.

"Honda Connect was developed to provide better service to meet the various needs of its users. We hope that with this connectivity technology in Honda's flagship model, users can be more personal and connected with their vehicles," said Yasuhiro Kawano, Large Project Leader of Honda Connect Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Automobile Business at GIIAS 2023.

Features in Honda Connect

Only available on the All New CR-V, Honda Connect can be accessed via an application that can be downloaded via smartphone on Google Play, Apple App Store and Huawei AppGallery.

There are three values highlighted by this mobile application specifically for Honda users, namely convenience, safety and security, to help users get information more quickly via smartphone.

Firstly, there is a Vehicle Status feature to access various actual information about the condition of the vehicle such as fuel level, battery status and airbag status.

There is also a Remote Vehicle Control feature which allows users to control vehicle functions via smartphone where users can lock and unlock the doors, start the engine and A/C and control the car to provide a response in the form of flashing lights when the user is looking for the car's position.

Meanwhile, in the safety function, there is an Automatic Collision Detection feature which works to send notifications automatically to the Call Center Support emergency service and the user's smartphone in the event of an accident which causes the front airbag to deploy.

After that, there is a Security Alarm feature which is active if the user's vehicle experiences a problem that causes the vehicle alarm to activate, such as forcing the car door to open.

There is also a sophisticated Speed Alert feature where users receive notifications on their smartphone when the vehicle exceeds a predetermined speed limit.

Then in the Security function there is a Find My Car feature that makes it easier for users to find the current or parked position of their vehicle.

Furthermore, there is also a Geofence feature which will provide notifications if the vehicle leaves or enters a predetermined radius and location.

Then there is also an Emergency Call feature which can be used by users to contact Honda Customer Care and Honda Experience during an emergency, so that the Honda Call Center can call the nearest help.

Will be applied to other Honda cars

Even though it is only available on the All New CR-V, Ferdianto Budiono as New Business Planning Senior Manager of HPM said that Honda Connect can also be applied to other Honda cars.

"We plan that in the future this advanced technology will be embedded in various Honda models," he said.

He also revealed that the Honda Connect feature can be enjoyed by All New CR-V owners for free for the first year. Next, you will be charged a subscription fee, the amount of which has not been stated.
