Mitsubishi Xforce Made in Bekasi Goes on Sale in Vietnam, First to Use MMSS Feature
The Mitsubishi Xforce Vietnam made in Indonesia has finally been officially launched, after previously leaking the appearance of this crossover with the three diamond logo in that country. For the record, Vietnam is also a large market share for the Xpander, so Mitsubishi is confident that the Xforce will also be well received in this region.
This car was imported in its entirety from Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, which is the assembly factory for Xforce in Indonesia for several export destination countries. Slightly different from Indonesia, Vietnam's Mitsubishi Xforce units come in four type variants, with a price range between 620 million Dong to 699 million Dong.
If converted to rupiah, the price of the Mitsubishi Xforce Vietnam is approximately equivalent to IDR 395 million to IDR 445 million. This price tag means it is more expensive than the price set by PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) for the Xforce domestically, which is at the level of IDR 379 million to IDR 412 million.
Every Xforce order in Vietnam will only be able to get a unit starting from March 2024, while for the Ultimate variant the price will only be announced in June 2024.
Complete Features of Mitsubishi Xforce Vietnam
Even though they are both from Indonesia, there are several features on the neighboring country's version of the Xforce that may be different from units marketed locally. The features available in all types of Xforce in the Vietnamese version include LED headlamps, LED rear lamps, headunits with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as the Active Yaw Control (AYC) feature.
Then the middle variant also gets a 12.3 inch headunit, 8 inch meter cluster, AC Dual Zone Auto Climate, 4 Drive Modes (Normal, Wet, Gravel and Mud), leather seats, Yamaha Premium Dynamic Sound with 8 speakers, and Power Tailgate.
Now in the highest type, the Vietnamese version of the Xfoce has ADAS which the manufacturer calls Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing (MMSS).
These features are:
- Blind-spot warning (BSW)
- Lead car departure notification (LCDN)
- Rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA)
- Active cruise control (ACC)
- Forward collision mitigation (FCM)
The existence of this MMSS feature makes the Xforce one of the B Segment SUVs in Vietnam that is equipped with the ADAS feature.
The machine is the same as the Xpander
In terms of features, there are differences, then the engine remains the same as the Indonesian version. Xforce Vietnam is equipped with a MIVEC 1.5-liter 4 cylinder Naturally Aspirated (N/A) petrol engine which is claimed to be capable of producing peak power of 105 PS with torque of 141 Nm.
All types also only get a CVT automatic transmission and a front-wheel drive (FWD) system. After Vietnam, there is no information yet on when the Xforce made by the nation's children will be marketed in other countries.
However, quoting from our partner Wapcar Malaysia, this SUC Crossover will also go to the neighboring country, although the schedule has not been determined.
Features of the Indonesian Version of the Mitsubishi Xforce
Having a more expensive price of up to IDR 32 million for the highest type, let's see what features are available in the Indonesian version of Xforce. For the domestic market, all types of Xforce are equipped with LED front and rear lights, Daytime Running Lights (DRL), Fog lamps, and 16 inch alloy wheels, Dual Zone AC, and leather seats.
However, the Power Tailgate, 8 inch meter cluster, 12.3 inch head unit, Android Auto or Apple CarPlay features, and also Yamaha Premium Dynamic Sound with 8 speakers are only available in the highest type. Even though it doesn't have ADAS, the completeness of its driving features can be compared to the Vietnamese version.
Because these cars also have a ground clearance of 222 mm and a turning radius of 5.2 meters, so you don't have to worry too much when you have to face contoured terrain or make a U-turn in a narrow area. The MIVEC 1.5 engine with CVT transmission also provides four Drive Modes for the driver, namely Normal, Wet, Gravel and Mud.
Then there are 18 storage compartments, including a floor console box under the front passenger seat, as well as an armrest between the driver and front passenger seats which functions as a small refrigerator. The air conditioner is equipped with Panasonic NanoeX technology which ensures that the air circulating in the car's interior remains clean.
Don't forget that the head unit can display a Multi Meter with the themes Adventurous, Responsive, Reliable, and Driving Score which will provide you with information regarding the score of the most recent driving style.
For active safety features, there are Dual SRS Airbags, Side Airbags, Tire Pressure Monitoring system (TPMS), Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Active Stability Control (ASC), ABS, EBD, and BA, Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA ), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Speed Sensing Door Lock, Auto Light Control, Rear Camera and Rain Sensor.
