PayPal is still in the PSE Private Scope registration process. Previously, they were even indifferent to Kominfo.
The latest news regarding the registration of the Private Scope PSE was disclosed by Kominfo. A number of PSEs that have been blocked have now normalized as of Tuesday (8/2/2022) at 08.30 WIB.
They are Yahoo and Valve Corp (Steam, CS GO, and Dota). As for PayPal, it's got drama that goes with it.
On Saturday, July 30, 2022, the Director General of Informatics Applications at the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, revealed that PayPal did not respond to letters from Kominfo. In fact, Amazon's class PSE just signed up before the deadline ended.
"This (PayPal) just doesn't respond to our letters. Indeed, we all send letters," he said.
Finally, PayPal was blocked by the Ministry of Communication and Information. The Ministry of Communication and Information has given a letter asking PayPal and others to register for PSE. However, until the deadline on July 29, 2022 at 23:59 WIB, PayPal did not register.
But now, PayPal seems to be yielding. Kominfo said it had communicated with Paypal. Paypal has expressed a commitment to register in the near future.
"We are optimistic that Paypal will register in the near future," he said.
Blocking against PayPal invites reactions from the public. Understandably, there are a number of creative workers who use PayPal to pay for their creative work.
A protest was launched at the Kominfo. Finally, Kominfo temporarily opened the block on PayPal for 5 working days as of last Monday.
However, if the PSE registration process is complete. PayPal will also be completely normalized like any other Private Scope PSE.
