The Toyota Crown 2023 seems to have entered the Southeast Asia (ASEAN) region. After launching in Japan and the United States, this latest generation Crown landed in Thailand. However, APM Toyota Thailand did not do this, but a general importer there, namely the Eton Group.
Reporting from Autospinn, Saturday (24/12/2022), the importer version of the Crown is marketed at 3.69 million baht or the equivalent of IDR 1.65 billion.
Compare that to the price of the Toyota Crown 2023 in Japan, which starts from 4.35 million yen to 6.4 million yen, or the equivalent of only Rp. 510-751 million.
Use a Hybrid Machine
Crown, which was brought to Thailand, adopted a hybrid technology engine. The engine has a 2.5-liter capacity of 186 hp and 221 Nm of torque.Then combined with two electric motors at the front and rear, each powered 120 hp and 54 hp. The combination of the two systems produces a power of 234 hp.
The crown that entered the Land of the White Elephant was not the flagship type. One of the markers is the use of 19-inch alloy wheels, while the highest type uses 21-inch wheels. Then, the lamp still adopts a single LED projector.
Already Using TSS
Even though it's not a flagship type that landed in Thailand, Crown still provides a luxurious cabin space with seats made from a combination of high-quality leather and fabric. The dashboard is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a similar-sized head unit which is still in Japanese.A number of features have also been embedded in the latest Crown. Call it the Android Auto and Apple Carplay wireless connection, head up display, wireless charger, electric adjustable steering wheel, digital rear view mirror, 360 degree camera, and power tailgate with kick sensor.
Of course, Crown has the Toyota Safety Sense safety feature that helps motorists prevent accidents. Some of the features include Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Automatic High Beam, Blind Spot Monitor, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
