New Instagram Cross-Post and Add Yours Features for Reels!

New Instagram Cross-Post and Add Yours Features for Reels – Meta on Tuesday announced several new features for Facebook and Instagram users as the company will focus on competing with TikTok. In addition to a new way to create Reels using previously shared Stories, Instagram users can now repost Reels to Facebook.

The company makes it easy for content creators to reach a larger audience with Reels and lets them share the same content on Instagram and Facebook (via Engadget). In this way, users can even take advantage of the monetization programs offered by both platforms. New Instagram Cross-Post and Add Yours features were available globally on Facebook earlier this year.

Making Reels Using Stories

But this is just one of the new features coming to the Meta social network. On Facebook, you can now create Reels using previously shared Stories. So now it's easier to create Reel content with your favorite memories.

Another change coming soon to Instagram and Facebook Reels is the addition of the "Add Yours" sticker which is quite popular on Instagram Stories. These stickers allow users to create new Stories from trends with just one tap, and now this same experience will also be available on Reel. This, of course, should motivate more users to create their own Reel.

For those of you unfamiliar, Reels is basically an alternative to Facebook and Instagram for TikTok. Creators can share vertical short videos with original audio, music and filters. Recently, Facebook even announced the end of its “Direct Shopping” platform in favor of Reels.

Meta says that these features are now being rolled out to users worldwide. So, if you haven't seen the update, please be patient.

After controversy, Instagram is finally backing out of its TikTok-like design

A few weeks ago, Instagram boss Adam Mosseri shared a video in which he admitted that Instagram is more focused on video than ever before. However, this angered many – leading even influencers Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian to speak out against this move to make Instagram more like TikTok.

Instagram later said it would undo some of the controversial changes that were recently announced. This includes a new full-screen design for the feed that is heavily inspired by TikTok. Instagram users are also unhappy with the algorithm showing more suggested content than from the accounts they follow.

Unfortunately, Mosseri said that the company is still considering ways to change the way Instagram works, so this means that these changes could return in the future.
