The Genesis G80 Electrified has just been used as the official vehicle for the G20 Summit in Bali. Now in other countries, it seems that the Genesis G80 has just finished carrying out a crash test.
This test was carried out by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the United States (US). And as a result, quoted from Autohome, Friday (23/12/2022), this premium sedan from Hyundai won the title of Top Safety Pick Plus IIHS 2022.
Genesis G80 Electrified Rain Top Points for All Crash Tests
There are two Genesis G80 models tested by IIHS. Namely the G80 Electrified which is a full electric car. Another G80 version of the internal combustion engine (ICE).
As for those who won the title of Top Safety Pick Plus, namely the full electric version. While the ICE version also won a fairly high security rating.
Both cars won top marks in all crash tests with the "Good" rating. Whether it's a crash test from the front of the driver's side or a crash test from the rear.
Then the "Excellent" value is also given when testing the strength of the side body and the roof. Meanwhile, when a crash test was carried out with the target of pedestrians, this car received an "Acceptable" rating. That's because pedestrians do not experience fatal incidents.
As a result of using complete safety features
Both the full electric and internal combustion engines are equipped with complete safety features. For example, there are 8 airbags in the entire cabin of this car, including airbags to protect the knees, which turned out to be a big contributor during this crash trial.
Then the G80 also has pedestrian detection. The goal is to avoid collisions from the front due to pedestrians passing suddenly. Then there is also Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Warning.
