MG Maxus 9 Electric Car Reportedly Launched at IIMS 2024
Morris Garages (MG) Motor Indonesia will take part in enlivening the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), by presenting its newest product which is predicted to be the MG Maxus 9 electric car.
It was previously known that MG Motor Indonesia did not only focus on ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) cars, in its business line it also focused on the development and progress of electric cars in the country.
It was previously known that the British branded automotive manufacturer from China had succeeded in producing two electric cars in Indonesia with CKD (Completely Knock Down) status, such as the MG 4 EV and the New MG ZS EV.
"We are aware of the high expectations of Indonesian automotive fans for innovative products. MG Motor Indonesia is ready to present a surprise at IIMS 2024. Will it be the MG Maxus 9 EV or something equally innovative waiting to be introduced?" explained Arief Syarifudin, Marketing & PR Director of MG Motor Indonesia in his official statement.
Arif further said, as a premium MPV powered by pure electricity with a boxy appearance, the MG Maxus 9 not only comes with a futuristic design, but is also comfortable and has amazing performance.
Premium Electric MPV, MG Maxus 9 Can Accommodate 7 People at Once
The MG Maxus 9 electric car is a rebadge of the Maxus Mifa 9, which in terms of capacity can accommodate 7 people at once. Because it has the status of a premium MPV, the middle seat of this car has a pilot seat and a large panoramic sunroof on the middle roof.
Launched in Thailand in May 2023, this car, which is popular in China for its seats, is also equipped with four seat back settings combined with lumbar support. Interestingly, the chair used has heating and ventilation features, massage mode, and leg rest and foot rest that can be adjusted for distance.
In the second row, this electric MPV has temperature settings that can be adjusted individually, then there is also ambient light which can provide calm and comfort while driving.
Regarding the entertainment system, this car is equipped with a 12.3 inch floating head unit which is capable of providing a variety of interesting entertainment, by supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as Streaming Media Rearview Mirror.
Meanwhile, the driving information center uses a 7 inch full digital TFT screen with a floating model, presenting driving information in a modern and informative manner.
Driving Safety Receives Five Stars from Euro NCAP
Having the status of a premium MPV, for driving safety the Maxus 9 has fairly complete features.
As standard safety features, this car is equipped with 6 airbags, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) along with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Stability Control System (SCS), Curve Brake Control (CBC) , Follow Me Home Light, Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) and Traction Control System (TCS).
The Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) smart features include: Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Auto Vehicle Hold (AVH) Hill Start Assist System (HAS), Intelligent High-Beam Control (IHC), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS ), Driver Monitor System (DMS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Emergency Lane Keeping Assist (ELK ), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Blind Spot Monitoring (LCA/ BSD/ RCTA/ DOW).
Thanks to its safety features, the Maxus 9 was able to achieve five stars in the Euro NCAP crash test.
Has wild performance with a mileage of over 500 kilometers
Regarding performance, the Maxus 9 is equipped with a single 180 kW electric motor with 247 PS power and a torque of 350 Nm. The electric motor gets power from the 90 kWh lithium-ion battery used.
Regarding the resulting mileage, when the battery is fully charged, the MG Maxus 9 is claimed to be able to run as far as 540 kilometers. As a form of convenience in charging the battery, this car supports electric charging with AC and DC charging systems.
By utilizing the DC or fast charging method, charging the battery from 30 to 80 percent only takes 36 minutes.
